Day By Day Itinerary

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania's largest parks, located in the Manyara region. This park is particularly renowned for the Tarangire River, which flows year-round, providing the only water source for wildlife during the dry season. The park is also famous for its vast herds of elephants, as well as its spectacular baobab trees and abundant wildlife. Prepare for an exciting game drive as we explore the park's stunning landscapes and encounter a wide variety of animals.

Overnight: Marera Valley Lodge

Meals: Lunch & Dinner included

After breakfast, we will drive to Serengeti National Park, heading towards the Central Seronera area. Serengeti is renowned for its healthy population of resident wildlife, particularly the Big Five: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, and Buffalo.

  • Lions: Serengeti is believed to host the largest lion population in Africa, with more than 3,000 lions roaming the park due to the abundance of prey species.
  • African Leopards: These elusive predators are commonly spotted in the Seronera region, where around 1,000 leopards inhabit the park.

Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also home to around 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson's gazelles, which join the wildebeest in their trek for fresh grazing. Prepare to witness the iconic scene of over 6 million hooves pounding the open plains, just as you imagined African wildlife to be. Your time here will immerse you in the untamed beauty and raw nature of the Serengeti ecosystem.

Overnight: Serengeti Safari Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included

After breakfast, you will proceed to a full-day game drive in Central Serengeti, home of big cats, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. You will have a picnic lunch and in the evening we go back to the camp for an evening campfire, shower, and overnight stay.

A million wildebeest… each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable the cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 miles) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief the population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again.

Overnight: Serengeti Safari Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included

Following an early breakfast, you'll embark on a descent of over 600 meters into the crater for wildlife viewing. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area boasts a diverse array of animals, sustained by a year-round water supply and ample fodder. Among the wildlife are herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. The park's allure also lies in its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which requires a keen eye to spot at times. Our itinerary includes a visit to Lake Magadi, a sizable yet shallow alkaline lake nestled in the southwestern corner of the crater, renowned for its flamingos, hippos, and various waterfowl. Later in the afternoon, we'll transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

We will depart for a morning game drive at Lake Manyara National Park, enjoying a picnic lunch amidst the park's stunning scenery. After a day of wildlife exploration, we will drive back to Arusha in the evening and drop you off at your hotel (booked independently).

Lake Manyara is a fantastic introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife, with more than 400 species recorded. Even first-time visitors to Africa often spot up to 100 species in just one day. Inland from the floodplain, you’ll find a narrow belt of acacia woodland, home to the park’s famous tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. The park’s diverse habitats make it a remarkable location for both bird and wildlife viewing.
